Death Note is kind of taking over my brain.

Souichiro: This isn't a game we're playing, Ryuuzaki: it's a war.
L:Either way, isn't the goal of winning the same?

Also I just found a DN mood theme. So. Maybe.

I am currently very sick and I think it might have something to do with jetlag, a lack of Japanese bread, and having to drink water again. It's kind of really gross.

Although, I did see X-Men: The Last Stand today. And, thinking back on it, was kind of disappointed. Except in Storm and Beast.

Well. I'm home.
I'm supposed to write a detailed account and then submit it to VierraSensei. Or something. But, uh. Maybe later.
I am jetlagged and it feels rather gross. But other than that, I have many omiyage to pass out.
And there is a smashed gecko hovering above me on the windowsill.
My new fandom is Death Note. It makes me pretty happy.
My necklace is delving into my bra at the moment.
I'm picking up my pictures later tonight from Costco. Fourteen cameras.
I shall try to post some, should my desktop actually attempt to be cooperative.
English just doesn't sound right anymore.

Well. This is it. Leaving within the hour for the airport. It's an eight and a half hour flight to Kansai, then one and a half hours to Okinawa from there. :) Then it's two weeks of uchinaguchi and ENGRISH.

Cheri: So I'll probably scare the almighty out of her by kissing her just to prove the hopes that I CAN do somethng dammit!)
Lauren: Hmm in that case... (lmao XD CAMERA!!!)
Cheri: ROFL I can see Sean with his camera going OMG OMG OMG. (Literally oh em gee oh em gee oh em gee)
Lauren: LMAO
Lauren: COPIES FOR LAUREN!
Cheri: XD
Cheri: Hmm. That should be my challenge in Okinawa. How many girls can I kiss before the chaperones send me home early. XD
Lauren: ROTFLMAO (almost as funny as mr. lee's myspace songXD)
Lauren: go for it though;-) you know hoshi& i wouldn't mind seeing you home early:-P especially if THAT's the reasonXD
Cheri: ROFL
Cheri: Ahaha, I bet you wouldn't. XD
Cheri: Quoth Hoshi, "Kinky."
Lauren: hahahaha
Lauren: LMAO i can imagine it already.
Lauren: OMG CHERI YOU'RE HOME EARLY!
Lauren: WHY ARE YOU HOME EARLY.
Lauren: I kissed too many pretty okinawan girls.
Lauren: LAUREN & HOSHI: O_O
Lauren: Hoshi: that's kinky.

It is very hot at the moment. The kind of hot that makes you want to crawl out of your skin and die somewhere, a trail of blood.

OK. Maybe it's not actually that hot yet, but it feels like it because I've been scrambling upstairs and back downstairs and outside and - it's been really fun, to tell the truth. Packing is hard work. I hope everything fits! My backpack's a little heavy because I lose at life and have no iPod or MP3 player, etc., thus am dragging a large majority of my CD collection with me. But it's worth it.

THINGS TO REMEMBER TO BRING
-Meds
-Toothbrush, toothpaste
-Hairbrush
-Jacket
-Shoes

My dad just bought Stephen Hawking's "A Brief History of Time" to read at work, and I, Vonnegut's "Welcome to the Monkey House" for the plane. I think both are rather exciting prospects.

Hopefully pictures to follow.

I am angry.

rant )

My original post involved an in-depth version of the dream I had last night wherein I dragged Lori many places by the hand, battled Orcs behind a hotel on a slanted hill with superpowers, and therein discussed mutants and slept sitting up on the floor against a sofa with a sword ready just in case. It has been pushed back from being posted for a bit, though, as I recently recalled a previous scene from said dream that I wish to include.

It also had a footnote on the books I borrowed from the library today, including a wonderfully large and heavy geisha book with glossy color-pictures, Andreas Steinhofel's "The Center of the World," Fannie Flagg's "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Cafe," and a novel on the friendship between authors J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.

Also, I took the SATs today at Iolani. The essay question sucked.

Today is the technical last day of school. Our English groups presents our skits today. AHH. Last night's rehearsal at Erin's house was filled with much pizza, dangerous cellophane, and mostly memorized lines. We're meeting at Higa's in about twenty minutes to rehearse again.

I have faith. :) (As long as David remembers to bring the music!!! ...And I remember the last part of my soliloquy.)

Cheri: My brother, D.B., he had the right idea. ....He had the right idea. ....Uh.
Michael: (From offstage) "But..."
Cheri: ...But. ...But.
Michael: *cough*ButI'mleavingnow.*cough*
Cheri: BUT I'M LEAVING NOW! I'll be back though, I can't stand that. But, till then...Sleep tight, ya morons.
Michael: You know, I can't do that when we do the real thing.
Erin S: Sure you can! Just yell, "BUT I'M LEAVING NOW!" And Cheri will remember!
Cheri: ...YES! I'm leaving now!
Erin Y: And just run off.

Hopefully it will not go like this today. Period two apparently had kickass stuff. Damn.

Aside, three of my brother's dormmates are now living in my house. (The other six are scattered amongst other church member's houses.) They are Tanner, David and Tony. They are ginormously tall. And white. But they are taking me with them to the beach and maybe PCC tomorrow so. All is not lost. I'll update afterschool. Wish us luck!

So after four hours of straight working, our English group finished our entire script, all our backgrounds and all but one of our props.

Our skit is entitled "The Adventures of Macbeth in the Rye of 1984." (Worship the fiancee and samurai, we do.)

I should be studying for my Jap final and also memorizing my soliloquy for the skit as Holden Caulfield as Malcolm but I am very, very tired.

So I think I am going to sleep.

Tomorrow all nine of my brother's dormfloormates come. Three are staying with us. This shall be interesting.

Hope everyone's Memorial Day is going well and they've done their part to commemorate. :)

My brother should be home soon. Three of his friends are coming on Wednesday and staying for a week. I have recently been informed that I get to KEEP my room. Yes.

Now that I've finished my homework, I am going to go clean said room. And then watch the extras on my HSM DVD. Ohohoho.

TO DO
-trifolds (Copy editing, copy editor)
-Schick extra credit drawing
-Study for: Japanese II, AlgII exams

For my trifolds, I was too lazy to actually go out and TAKE pictures. So, of course, I resorted to MSPaint. My theme is Star Wars, by the by, as all copy editing requires the concentration usually reserved for Jedi mind tricks.

Anyway. Paint! )
OK. Back to the trifolds.

So sad. Second time I wasn't quick enough to apply for Kelsi Neilson over at [info]behind_curtain.

Ah well. At least I finally got Lauren to watch HSM tonight. :) We kept commenting on Corbin Bleu's arms. Gahh. Also, I fangirled. So...I may have to apologize for that later.

(Yes. I bought the damn DVD. Is it so sad that I want to see Olesya Rulin in the "Making of..."? Yes. NO DAMMIT.)

Oh, I also got to watch "War of the Worlds" at their house. MYUH. It freaked me out. And, if everyone hadn't been whining about it when they saw it back in December, I wouldn't have understood the ending. ...And how the hell did Robby survive?

Gosh.

...Anyway. Last Okinawa meeting tomorrow. Get to find out who I'm staying with. :\ Yikes. Nerves!

I think I am going to submit an application for an LJ RPG. At [info]behind_curtain, I think I am going to apply for Kelsi Nielson. <3 Maybe this obsession is going a little too far? Now Lauren will mock me. Forever. I hope I get it. :tidE

I have overdue library books and a crowded newswriting drawer. We're moving the layout tables today. Large AlgII test to fail, too. Messed up dialoguing and possible sight-reading sheets may also make an appearance. I'm thinking of spending the day in mute and bringing my music with me everywhere. Contemplating the drifting of the clouds and the dirty, used gum on the ground seems so much more appealing than having to deal with any of the above.

I have a large Algebra II test tomorrow on LOGARITHMS. Which I will probably fail.
So. I should go prepare for said failure now.
Tally ho.

PS - Have f4750927501752409508 fanfics to post and they're taking up unnecessary room on my harddrive. (Yes, it is a number so large, the letter "f" needed to be incorporated to properly represent the actuality of its near infiniteness.)

Also, I need to buy Tadahiro a "thank you for putting up with me this year and letting me adopt you and giving me advice in Japanese so that no one else can understand my dilemma when we speak of it and for trusting me so much this year" gift. :) And maybe a card. Yes. A card, too.

Last project of the year for Schick is a 5-7 minute skit, incorporating at least three characters from any work we have read this year with the plot of Macbeth. We are doing Celebrity Jeopardy (for we love it so). Contestants are Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn & Tom Sawyer, George Orwell's Winston Smith, and Maxine Hong Kingston's Fa Mu Lan.

It was amusing with David Rasmussen-Silverstein's input for the character of Winston.
Question: How many fingers are on one hand?
Winston: Four. No - five. Wait. ...I don't know. /head in hands in despair

Also, Macbeth is the host.

Cleaning out my copy editor's desk today, removing all the Pearls Before Swine and Mutts comics, putting away Quincy the Giant Blue Squid and fiancee&samurai comic strips, made me sadder than I've felt in a long time.

This is it. I'm really leaving the staff.

Edit: The new McDonald's commercials for their Premium Chicken Whatever Sandwiches, where the guy tells his coworker who keeps eating said sandwiches that he'll turn into a chicken if he keeps eating them, and then the guy gradually turns into a chicken - yeah, it makes me want to cry. :tidE

Well, I bought Ophelia a new tank today. :) Hopefully it will keep her water a lot cleaner now that she'll have a filter.

Also, I didn't actually like Macbeth as much as I thought I would. I wish there had been more focus onto Lady Macbeth's downward spiral into insanity, a more King Lear type of madness. The final act was rushed, and though supposedly to enhance the contrast from Macbeth's former deliberateness and weighing of decisions, I didn't appreciate it. Too clipped, too confusing, too little emotion able to be conveyed in such short bursts of dialogue. So. Anyway, that's my take on it. We're going to finish it tomorrow, I think and then be done with it, aside from final projects. Thank Gods.

A bit late, but I forgot to mention that on Saturday Hoshi and I went over to Lauren's. :) We watched most of "Batman Begins," with my running commentary for Medda, who thought we were watching Spiderman (I wept at this, if you were wondering). I played with the baby and she drooled a lot on me and was fascinated with the flowers on her pants. Gahh. <3

We also watched "RENT," and sang obnoxiously as much as possible, except for "Without You," "I'll Cover You (Reprise)," and "Goodbye Love," where we were respectfully silent and, dare I say, even pensive. For some reason, we decided that, since it was 11:30, we should watch "Newsies." So we did. And Lauren said she would take Hoshi and I home when it was done.

...She fell asleep. Hoshi and I got a ride from her dad at 2 AM, leaving WITHOUT marking or marring Lauren's face in any way at all, instead leaving her a nice computer paper note under her water bottle. Because we're good friends like that. Neeeever abusive.

Speaking of "never," all the band kids seem to suddenly be obsessed with the "Sacred Siegfred Oath," as heard in "The Producers." It frightens me.

On Friday I bought a fighting fish from Remy, whose family is apparently starting up a fighting fish breeding career. Two dollars. :) So now there is Ophelia, sitting next to Ferdinand's bowl in her own little tank.

The sad thing, though, is that Ophelia has no air bladder and her spine is crooked. She is gimpy and sits at the bottom of her tank most of the time before spazzing to the surface to get air. But I love her. And call her Pheli when I talk to her.

We don't dare put her and Ferdinand in the same tank though. Ferdinand would eat her. And I've already decided that they are married, so, the whole being eaten thing would be a little detrimental to their relationship. So. Long-distance it is.

Also, last night was the End of the Year Newswriting/Yearbook Banquet. :) The theme was Masquerade. I won Best Overall Costume. Megan won Best Mask. And it was lovely. Maybe pictures to be posted if Kristina G. gives me links. Things went swimmingly and I got to hug Ms. Tanaka and throw things at Mr. Sato.

And then today was the recycling project. Zach and I were sent to pick up bottles from Ruby Tuesdays and there were cans to dig through and lots and lots and lots of maggots.

Lovely.

So many people in the group are broken right now.
Clinging to the Batman handbooks in the back section of Border's Express today, I thought I could lift the world from their shoulders. But it's not my burden to lift. And that's the worst part of all.

Wow. Haven't been to [info]wranglers in a while. The new layout is very pleasant. :)
But it threw me off to run across an Alma/Lureen fic. Wow. Uhm. What?

Anyway. Sensei was in a bad mood today, but we did learn a new origami for the furoshigami. It made me so happy. Except that none of us can wrap gifts, so, we might be screwed for the presentation. Ah well. Tada and I got to talk about it on our way to Orch before we sight-read some interesting, new music. Hirata seems to be really into Mozart at the moment. Not that I mind.

Also watched "The Producers" at Sean's today. It was pretty good. Definitely not the new "RENT" like Sean claims it to be, but amusing nonetheless. Matthew Broderick and Uma Thurman were adorable. Still not sure what I think of Nathan Lane's character, but Will Ferrell (whose name I have never had to spell before) was pretty dang awesome. Oh my.

I'm disappointed with some people in the group for doing stupid things to themselves, and I hope things turn out alright. Thankfully the school year is almost over. Wishing for an angst-free summer may be asking for too much, but it's nice to dream.

Rewriting the musical's plot at the moment. When I really should be doing my trifold D1. I'm thinking that I'm either going to have to make a character cut (10 main characters what?) or switch some key things around. Rar. So little to do and so much time. Stop - strike that. Reverse it.

(God, I need to go buy me that Wonka DVD.)
